Walk across the Canal to Place du Colonel Fabien. The modern building on the square is the Headquarters of France’s communist party. It was designed by Oscar Niemeyer, the same architect who designed Brasilia. Keep walking up until you reach the Parc’s entrance
The park was landscaped under Napoleon III, who had been impressed by british parks when is was living in exile in London. It is a mixture of XIXth century architecture with neoclassic implants. Today the park is a small heaven for Parisians who wish to escape the turmoil of the city.
