Overlooking trees and water (Canal Saint-Martin) in Paris’s ‘hip and lively neighborhood’ (10th arrondissement). The area is green and airy with numerous small restaurants and cafés, many with an outdoor terrace. Each Sunday the Canal becomes pedestrian, with miles of jogging, walking, picnicking and biking possibilities along the waterway. Bike rentals are at the foot of our building, plus there are bateaux-mouches, canal locks etc.

Our apartment is most suitable to couples, or families with a maximum of 2 young children. For 4 adults, the sleeping arrangement is not ideal (2 on a sofa-bed in the living room) and hot water/ shower use can be problematic.

Our fitness-conscious guests are thrilled that the apartment is a 3rd floor walk-up!

The apartment was fully renovated in 2012.  The new design bolsters a feeling of space and comfort:

  • large living/dining room with Sealy sofa-bed, desk area, TV corner,
  • “American kitchen” with new, modern appliances (e.g. full size clothes and dishwashers, induction cooker, microwave), granite countertops and bar,…
  • silent bedroom with courtyard view,
  • designer bathroom includes large shower and heated towel rack.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Quai Valmy neighborhood is very safe and also full of small restaurants, cafés, bars, many of which we can personally recommend to you. Our street along the Canal is closed to traffic on Sundays and holidays, making it ideal for walking, biking, picnics. Public transportation is convenient and close, as are parcs and museums (La Villette, Musée de la Musique, la Philharmonie).
Our guest all love discovering this part of Paris, new to many of them.

GETTING AROUND

3 Metro stations within a 200m radius : Louis Blanc, Jaures, Colonel Fabien.

A 12 minutes walk from Gare du Nord or Gare de l'Est.

Direct train from Gare du Nord to CDG Airport (40 minutes).

Check-in / Check-out

  • Check-in (C.I.): after 15:00 or arrival date.
  • Check-out (C.O.): before 10:00 on departure date.
  • Please let us know your planned C.I. and C.O. time as soon as you can (minimum 4 days in advance).

Pricing

  • Base price (single or double occupancy): 95€ / night.
  • Minimum 4 nights
  • Turn-over fee (mandatory): 30€ /stay.
  • Supplement per additional guest (avove 2):  10€ / night + 10€ / stay.
  • Supplement for check-in/check-out at night or on sundays: 50€..

Payment

  • A 30% downpayment of the rent is required to confirm the resevation.
  • Payment of the full rental should be received 2 days prior to arrrival.
  • Contact us for payment options.
  • Security deposit:  300€ to be paid at C.I. and refunded max 4 days after C.O.

Cancellation policy

  • No cancellation fee if you cancel before  [C.I. date – 20 days].
  • 50% cancellation fee if you cancel between [C.I. date – 20 days] and [C.I. date – 7 days].
  • 100% cancellation fee if you cancel between [C.I. date – 7 days] and planned C.O. date.

I LOVED this apartment and its location. I travelled solo, spending just over a week in the apartment and it met all my needs very comfortably. I loved sitting with my first cup of coffee in the morning and watching all that took place on the streets and sidewalks below. The apt. building and the apartment itself together are a nice blend of modern convenience and turn of the century character. Honestly, I would live here if I could! I hope to visit again in the not too far distant future.

La descripción del anuncio era correcta y el departamento nos resultó cómodo y con todos los servicios necesarios para una familia. Fue interesante alojarnos en un barrio de París que no conocíamos y que es una zona muy animada y de moda, especialmente por las noches. Su ubicación es buena, hay 4 estaciones de metro cercanas, lo que facilita el acceso a los puntos turísticos más importantes que no están tan próximos como para ir a pie. Está justo en el inicio de la zona de bares y restaurantes del Canal Saint-Martin y próximo a avenidas con variedad de locales comerciales. Tuvimos una agradable estadía y lo recomendaría.

We had a great time in Paris! Thanks to Meredith and her friend Dominique, who showed us around the apartment, we had all the comfort we needed to enjoy our visit. The apartment is lovely and well situated, with the lively area of Canal Saint-Martin and several Metro stations nearby. We definitely recommend it!

We were graciously welcomed early by Pierre (Meredith's husband) which was really appreciated after a long haul flight. The place is just as in the photos with all you could need. The flat is warm and homely and the location on the canal was wonderful for canal side strolls, a Sunday market and also very convienient to many metro lines. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend.
